Australian Eggs partners with Hearts4Heart

Australian Eggs is proud to partner with leading not-for-profit organisation Hearts4Heart to raise awareness and combat heart disease in Australia.

Hearts4Heart is a national organisation which provides support, education and advocacy for Australians and New Zealanders living with heart disease. Supported by Australian cardiologists, Hearts4Heart brings together patients and healthcare professionals with the shared goal of reducing the burden to patients. The charity also provides targeted educational programs, resources and services to improve diagnoses, treatment and quality of life for people affected by heart disease.

About Heart Disease

Cardiovascular disease is extremely prevalent in Australia, affecting more than 4 million people. Through this partnership, Australian Eggs aims to raise awareness of the health burden and work with Hearts4Heart to educate Australians on how to live a healthy lifestyle, with a focus specifically on the benefits eggs can contribute to our diet.

A study conducted by Hearts4Heart in June 2023 found:

  • Affecting up to half a million Australians, heart failure is a leading cause of death in Australia.
  • Two in three (66%) Australians at risk of developing heart failure, are living unaware.
  • Eight in ten (82%) Australians aged 65 or over did not recognise age as a risk factor.
  • Each day, eight Australians lose their lives to heart failure, and it ranks as the number one cause of hospitalisation for those over 65.5
  • Leading charity puts heart failure on national agenda with launch of Australian-first Guide at Parliament House.
